Job Overview
Oversee Safety, Health, Environment and Quality programmes for an automotive component manufacturing operation in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal. Drive regulatory compliance, lead the SHEQ team, and embed a strong safety and quality culture across the business.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement and monitor SHEQ policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws, regulations and industry standards.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify hazards and risks, and put corrective action plans in place.
• Lead and manage a team of SHEQ professionals with guidance, training and support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SHEQ into product development and operations.
• Maintain SHEQ performance records, incident documentation and regulatory evidence.
• Engage external stakeholders on SHEQ concerns and promote best practice.
• Stay current on emerging SHEQ trends and recommend improvements to safety and quality performance.
Required Qualifications
• BSc/BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Certified lead auditor covering IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 50001.
• Minimum 7–10 years’ senior management experience.
• Project management experience and automotive component manufacturing background.
• Experience using core quality management tools.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and advanced business reporting capability.
