Job Overview

Goldman Tech Resourcing is recruiting an experienced Control & Instrumentation Engineer for a client's established engineering team in Pretoria (advert listed under Secunda; permanent; apply before 13 November 2026). The advertised package is R81,667–R100,000 per month.

The role provides technical expertise across instrumentation, DCS/PLC, ESD, functional safety and control systems on complex process and industrial projects, with technical leadership of engineering teams, client liaison and support for business development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide control and instrumentation engineering expertise across process and industrial projects

• Develop and apply process control solutions, instrumentation systems and control elements

• Work with DCS, PLC and ESD systems across the engineering and project lifecycle

• Provide technical input on flow, temperature, pressure, level and other instrumentation

• Review and resolve complex C&I problems with practical solutions

• Provide technical guidance and leadership to engineering teams

• Liaise with clients and stakeholders, explaining complex technical systems clearly

• Prepare technical reports, documentation and engineering deliverables

• Support business development and marketing of engineering services

Required Qualifications

• BEng / BSc Eng / BTech or National Diploma in Chemical, Mechatronic or Electronic Engineering

• 5–10 years' experience as a Control & Instrumentation Engineer

• ECSA professional registration advantageous

• Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC and ESD systems and process instrumentation

• Knowledge of functional safety (IEC 61508) and intrinsic safety (SANS 60079, SANS 10108)

• Analyser systems experience advantageous; strong leadership and interpersonal skills
