Job Overview

Amazon (Amazon Commercial Services (South Africa)) is hiring a Senior Business Development Manager for its Delivery Service Partner (DSP) business in Cape Town (Job ID 10588948; Business & Merchant Development). The role owns new partner acquisition for Amazon Logistics’ last-mile network in South Africa, sourcing, vetting and guiding independent small-business owners who launch and scale delivery businesses on Amazon’s behalf.

Part of the Middle East, Africa and Türkiye (MEATR) region, the BDM owns the regional candidate-acquisition funnel end to end, uses data to match capacity needs and pipelines, partners Operations, Program Management and Compliance, and builds long-term relationships with business communities and industry associations – travelling roughly 10 days a month.

Key Responsibilities

Develop recruiting and placement strategy to identify DSP prospects that meet last-mile logistics growth plans
Own the full candidate journey – sourcing, interviewing, vetting and business launch
Coach DSP owner candidates on programme expectations, business plans, operational requirements and safety
Collaborate with Delivery Partner Management and Operations to add high-quality DSPs and refine selection
Use data and metrics to analyse regional capacity needs and pipelines and drive process improvements
Build relationships with industry, corporate partners and professional associations as a regional ambassador
Travel approximately 10 days per month to support candidate recruitment and experience

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of program or project management experience
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership
Preferred: 5+ years presenting to executive and senior audiences; knowledge of general AI tools
