Job Overview

Michael Page is hiring a Talent Development Specialist in Johannesburg for a leading Chemical Manufacturing organisation. You will design and deliver talent-development programmes that close skills gaps, support leadership pipelines, and align learning to business objectives in a multi-region industrial setting.

Work spans learning design for manufacturing contexts, measuring training effectiveness, succession and leadership development support, and coaching employees on professional growth—while staying current on L&D practice in chemicals/industrials.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver comprehensive talent development programmes supporting employee growth

• Collaborate with HR and leadership to identify skill gaps and training needs

• Develop learning materials and resources tailored to Chemical Manufacturing

• Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness; recommend improvements

• Support leadership development and succession planning strategies

• Ensure training activities comply with industry standards and organisational policies

• Guide employees on professional development journeys

• Stay updated on talent-development trends in Chemical Manufacturing

Required Qualifications

• Strong background in talent development, preferably within Chemical Manufacturing

• Experience designing and implementing employee training programmes

• Knowledge of modern learning methodologies and tools

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Ability to analyse data to measure training effectiveness and propose solutions

• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture
