Job Overview

Tumaini Consulting (via Careers24) is hiring a commercially minded Senior Project Development Manager in Cape Town for an international organisation developing renewable energy projects across solar, wind and water infrastructure. The role supports successful delivery from early development through significant portions of late-stage execution within a multidisciplinary team.

You will combine site and permitting leadership with commercial and contractual support, project financial modelling, budget and timeline control, risk mitigation and mentoring of junior developers while upholding high project-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Drive renewable energy projects from early development into late-stage execution. Lead site selection activities and contribute to land-acquisition strategies. Coordinate permitting processes and manage approvals with relevant authorities. Evaluate technical improvement opportunities that enhance project performance.

Support commercial discussions and contribute to contractual agreements. Manage project budgets, financial models and development timelines. Monitor project risks and ensure effective mitigation measures. Guide and mentor junior members of the project development team while maintaining high-quality project standards.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Experience managing renewable energy development projects with knowledge of solar, wind and/or water infrastructure; strong project and stakeholder management; experience with project financial modelling and budgeting; excellent problem-solving and decision-making; ability to work independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
