Job Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is appointing a Retail Operations Efficiency Manager at its Midrand head office, accountable for designing, implementing and continuously improving the operational systems, processes and frameworks that enable consistent, high-quality store execution across the Dis-Chem retail network.

The role owns national labour productivity frameworks — workforce modelling, scheduling optimisation and time-and-motion analysis — and leads specialist functions including Retail Systems and Process Excellence, Retail Productivity and Retail Operations Support.

It suits someone with 5-7 years in retail operations, process optimisation or continuous improvement who has led store transformation initiatives and can translate strategy into practical, scalable store solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate retail operations efficiency strategy into processes, tools and store routines

• Design and implement SOPs and frameworks for consistency across the store network

• Own national labour productivity frameworks including workforce modelling and scheduling

• Analyse labour data to close productivity gaps and drive ROI on staffing investment

• Lead continuous improvement and deliver centralised store support within SLAs

• Partner with IT to simplify systems and remove inefficiencies

• Maintain operational performance reporting and ensure store audits are completed

• Ensure compliance with operational policies, SOPs and regulations

Required Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in business, operations, industrial engineering, supply chain or related, or 5-7 years' relevant retail operations experience

• Experience leading operational and store transformation initiatives

• Labour modelling, workforce planning and scheduling optimisation capability

• Expertise in continuous improvement and lean methodologies
