IT Manager (Automotive Manufacturing)
Job Overview
Hire Resolve's client, a manufacturing company specialising in the automotive industry, is looking for an IT Manager to join its team in New Germany (Pinetown), greater Durban. The role develops and implements an IT strategy that ensures the company's IT investment satisfies business requirements, incorporating OT, AI, Cloud and Data.
You will manage the IT team and all IT systems, support functions, infrastructure and expenditure — including the ERP environment, industrial control systems (ICS) governance and integration into corporate IT, cybersecurity, data security and disaster-recovery readiness — and report monthly and quarterly to the Executive Committee and IT Steering Committee.
Suited to an IT leader with a degree in IT or Computer Science, 5+ years in a leadership role, and a strong background in database design, software development, business and systems analysis, cloud platforms, virtualisation and enterprise software.
Key Responsibilities
Create and manage an IT strategy incorporating OT, AI, Cloud and Data; streamline IT operations
Lead and mentor the IT team and implement IT policies, procedures and best practice
Manage IT budgets, vendors, contracts and SLAs with third-party service providers
Oversee industrial control systems (ICS) governance and integration of manufacturing IT into corporate IT
Own the ERP environment: stability, upgrades, patches, integrations and vendor support
Manage cybersecurity initiatives, data security, compliance and disaster-recovery readiness
Manage IT projects and digital-transformation initiatives from planning to delivery within budget
Manage networks, servers and systems; monitor performance and troubleshoot proactively
Report to the Executive Committee and IT Steering Committee and prepare for IT audits
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
Minimum 5 years' experience in an IT leadership role
Strong background in database design, software development and business/systems analysis
Experience with cloud platforms, virtualisation and enterprise software (ERP)
Manufacturing or OT/ICS environment experience advantageous
