Job Overview

One of South Africa’s largest renewable-energy IPPs is hiring an ICT Manager in Cape Town to own technology operations—reliable Run service delivery plus Grow maturity and optimisation. You govern the managed service provider, escalate remediations, and partner the OCIO on the technology roadmap.

Scope covers M365/security/collaboration optimisation, ICT risk and DR readiness, audits, licensing and MSP commercial control, and leadership of the Digital Transformation Lead and IT Operations Lead. You are the internal face of ICT to EXCO with structured performance reporting.

Bar: degree in IS/Business/Technology; 10–15 years in ICT with 5+ years senior management; strong MSP governance. Energy-sector and ITIL/COBIT/PRINCE2 exposure advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Own MSP relationship: SLA performance, incident trends, and root-cause reviews

• Ensure ICT risks are visible; oversee policy adherence and disaster-recovery readiness

• Act as primary internal escalation for operational remediations and improvements

• Identify opportunities to consolidate systems and optimise M365, security, and collaboration platforms

• Scale ICT processes with the expanding renewable-energy portfolio

• Lead ICT audits and risk remediation initiatives

• Partner with OCIO to implement the technology roadmap

• Coordinate business stakeholders and external partners for adoption and benefits realisation

• Maintain visibility of project dependencies, risks, and change impacts

• Manage ICT spend, licensing renewals, and monthly MSP invoicing/reconciliations

• Support business cases for new systems; manage Digital Transformation and IT Operations leads

• Report ICT performance and strategy to EXCO and management

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Information Systems, Business, or Technology

• 10–15 years in ICT with at least 5 years in a Senior Management role

• Proven track record governing MSPs and external vendors

• Energy-sector experience highly advantageous

• Exposure to ITIL, COBIT, or PRINCE2 preferred

• Comfortable engaging EXCO with structured reporting
