Job Overview

Weaver Fintech is looking for a Head of Technology Operations in Cape Town to own and evolve the infrastructure, security and operational backbone of a fast-growing fintech — and to bring an AI-forward, boundary-pushing mindset to everything the team builds. This is a director-level role in the IT Operations division.

You will own the stability and resilience of on-premises server and network infrastructure, security operations (access management, endpoint security, threat response and compliance), the IT Service Desk and End User Computing function, IT governance, vendor management and audit relationships, and disaster recovery and infrastructure incident management.

You will lead a growing TechOps team (SecOps Manager, Network/Server engineer, EUC technicians) and drive the AI and automation agenda within TechOps. Applications close 22 October 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the stability and resilience of on-premises server and network infrastructure

• Run security operations — access management, endpoint security, threat response and compliance

• Lead the IT Service Desk and End User Computing function, including SLAs, standards and team performance

• Own IT governance, vendor management and audit relationships; design frameworks and write policy to stay audit-ready

• Own disaster recovery capability and infrastructure incident management

• Lead and grow the TechOps team (SecOps Manager, Network/Server engineer, EUC technicians)

• Drive the AI and automation agenda within TechOps, identifying and implementing smarter ways to operate

Required Qualifications

• 8–12 years in technology operations or IT infrastructure, with 3–5 years leading teams

• Strong on-premises infrastructure expertise — servers, networking and security

• AI-forward mindset with demonstrable active use of AI tools

• Governance mindset: designing frameworks, writing policy and staying audit-ready

• Experience in a regulated or financial services environment (advantageous)

• ITIL certified; security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+) preferred
