Job Overview

Standard Bank Group — a leading Africa-focused financial services group — is appointing a Head of Finance Reporting and Analysis for Personal & Private Banking (Group Central) in Johannesburg. The role translates and implements the finance strategy into the supported business area.

You will provide leadership, vision and direction to the financial management team and ensure holistic value-manager support into the business that enables execution of the business strategy — leading finance teams across multiple capabilities (tax, reporting, forecasting) and jurisdictions, and interpreting and communicating financial and non-financial data to senior stakeholders.

Technical scope includes financial and accounting control, financial planning, planning/forecasting/budgeting, process governance, quality management, root cause analysis, statistical analysis and transfer pricing. Postgraduate finance qualification with CA(SA) preferred and 8–10 years' finance business partnering experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate and implement the finance strategy into the Personal & Private Banking business area

• Provide leadership, vision and direction to the financial management team

• Ensure holistic value-manager support into the business to enable execution of business strategy

• Lead financial management activities and processes across tax, reporting, forecasting and multiple jurisdictions

• Interpret and communicate financial and non-financial data and insights to senior stakeholders

• Drive financial and accounting control, process governance, quality management and continuous process improvement

• Oversee planning, forecasting and budgeting, root cause analysis and transfer pricing

Required Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in Finance and Accounting; CA(SA) preferred

• 8–10 years' Finance Business Partnering experience

• Significant experience leading finance teams across multiple finance capabilities (tax, reporting, forecasting) and jurisdictions

• Experience interpreting and communicating financial and non-financial data to senior stakeholders

• Behavioural competencies incl. challenging ideas, directing people, embracing change, interpreting data, making decisions and providing insights
