Job Overview

Mindcor is recruiting a commercially astute, hands-on Head of Finance with strong operational expertise for a manufacturing business in Germiston (permanent management EE position; advertised at R125,000–R150,000 per month). The Head of Finance partners the CFO and Executive leadership on strategic decisions, capital investments, acquisitions and business performance.

The role leads finance transformation—improving finance automation and digital processes—and drives financial performance through stronger controls, reporting and commercial insight. It strengthens product costing, inventory management and operational finance, manages production, yield, waste and costing variances, budgeting and forecasting, and works with engineering, procurement and supply chain on CAPEX evaluation and capital approvals, while managing risk, audit and stakeholder requirements and developing the finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the CFO and Executive leadership on strategy, capital investments, acquisitions and business performance

• Support the CFO on operational and strategic matters

• Lead finance transformation, improving finance automation and digital processes

• Drive financial performance through improved controls, reporting and commercial insight

• Strengthen product costing, inventory management and operational finance

• Manage financial controls, production, yield, waste and costing variances, budgeting and forecasting

• Lead major projects and finance modernisation initiatives

• Work with engineering, procurement and supply chain on CAPEX evaluation and capital approval processes

• Manage risk, audit and stakeholder requirements

• Support finance teams, develop talent and strengthen succession within finance

Required Qualifications

• CIMA or CA(SA) qualification

• At least 10 years in a senior finance leadership role with Exco-level exposure

• Manufacturing industry experience, including product costing and stock management (essential)

• Experience in process improvement, financial controls and operational finance

• Exposure to AI-driven finance initiatives

• CAPEX evaluation and capital approval experience

• Knowledge of South African tax, regulatory and governance requirements
