Fund Principal: Property Deals & Transactions
Job Overview
A leading organisation in the investment and asset management sector is seeking a highly experienced Fund Principal: Property Deals & Transactions (Property Investment Executive) in Pretoria. This senior management role develops and delivers a strong pipeline of property investment transactions spanning developments, acquisitions, disposals, debt, equity and indirect investments.
You will originate and oversee new opportunities, unlock value within the existing portfolio, structure transactions across equity and debt, and lead investment committee reports and deal motivations through to close. The role manages the full deal pipeline—including board motivations and transaction reporting—while building relationships with clients, industry partners and service providers.
Suited to a seasoned property investment professional with 10–12 years' deal experience and 5+ years leading direct reports, who can originate, structure, negotiate and close complex property transactions. Remuneration is a negotiable, all-inclusive package.
Key Responsibilities
• Originate and oversee new property investment opportunities
• Evaluate opportunities to unlock value within the existing property portfolio, including acquisitions and disposals
• Oversee the structuring of property transactions incorporating both equity and debt
• Lead preparation of investment committee reports and deal motivations
• Manage the sale and acquisition of assets in line with portfolio and investment objectives
• Identify, structure and close value-accretive property transactions
• Manage the property deal pipeline, including board motivations, reporting and transaction status
• Develop strong relationships with clients, industry partners, service providers and internal stakeholders; close profitable new business
• Monitor property and investment markets for new opportunities and competitive advantage
Required Qualifications
• Honours degree or equivalent in Finance, Property or Real Estate
• Certification/Diploma in Property Law and Sales
• FAIS RE05 certificate, or willingness to obtain it within 6 months of employment
• 10–12 years' investment and deal experience within the property industry
• At least 5 years' senior management experience with direct reports
• Strong track record in property investment transactions and deal origination
• Advantageous: MSc in Real Estate, MBA, CA(SA) or CFA
