Job Overview

Co-lead legal and compliance strategy for a Pan-African investment manager and investment bank focused on private credit and private equity. Advise the CEO and executive leadership, oversee fund and transaction legal support, manage multi-jurisdictional regulatory frameworks including FSCA and FICA, handle corporate secretarial duties, and direct external counsel across African jurisdictions. Safeguard operations through sound regulatory compliance, AML oversight, and transactional risk management.

Required Qualifications

Qualified attorney with LLB and valid admission. Minimum 5 years PQE with strong academic standing. Proven background in financial services, private equity, funds, or investment banking; in-house experience preferred. Strong multi-jurisdiction regulatory compliance and AML (FSCA/FICA) experience. Hands-on transactional legal work and fund support (NDAs, term sheets, investment agreements, CPs) plus corporate governance. Ability to operate with executive-level judgement and minimal supervision.
