Job Overview

Goldman Tech Resourcing (Stand-Out Staffing) seeks a commercially astute Business Unit Manager to lead a KwaZulu-Natal engineering / built-environment business unit from Durban. Reporting to the COO, you own operational performance, project delivery, profitability, business development, and team leadership.

This is a senior P&L-style mandate: multidisciplinary teams, contracts and risk, quality systems, client growth, and mentoring high-performance staff across complex projects.

Apply before 24 Oct 2026. Requires BSc/BEng/BTech (Engineering, Built Environment, or Project Management), professional registration (ECSA, SACPCMP or equivalent), 8–10 years senior technical/PM experience plus substantial middle- and senior-management tenure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead overall operations, performance, and profitability of the KZN business unit

• Manage multidisciplinary teams and ensure successful project delivery

• Drive business development, client relationship management, and strategic growth

• Oversee budgets, financial performance, and business sustainability

• Manage contracts, risk, compliance, and quality systems

• Provide oversight of project implementation and technical delivery

• Mentor and develop staff; promote skills development and high performance

• Support strategic planning and continued business-unit growth

• Build relationships with clients, stakeholders, project teams, and industry partners

• Report to the Chief Operating Officer

Required Qualifications

• BSc, BEng, BTech Engineering, Built Environment, or Project Management qualification

• Professional registration with ECSA, SACPCMP, or recognised Built Environment body

• 8–10 years as Senior Engineer, Project Manager, Senior Technologist, or similar

• At least 5 years’ middle-management experience

• 3–5 years’ senior management and people-management experience

• Exposure to multidisciplinary projects; strong financial, commercial, and BD capability

• Sound knowledge of construction regulations and contracts; strong programme management

• Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder, and problem-solving skills

• Advantageous: postgraduate Built Environment / Engineering / PM / MBL; longer senior tenure
